“Romantic, secluded hideaway well furnished and well set up for self-catering”

We were a family of six - two grandparents, two parents, and two children aged 10 and 8. The accommodation was excellent and the situation romantic, overlooking the bay and the beach. It is a bit of a struggle to make the last few steps if, like us, you are 80!,, but once installed you might well not wish to be anywhere else. We were particularly impressed by the way we were looked after on arrival and departure at the pier and our luggage was miraculously taken away in a wheelbarrow to reappear in the villa when we got there. Yelapa is a world away from the tourist whirl of Puerto Vallarta, and a stay not to be missed. We came from the UK, and it was worth the trip.

High-end comfort in a a rustic village

Casa Flourish is unique among places to stay in Yelapa. It is extremely conveniently located just a couple minutes walk to the beach and a minute to the village. And yet, I had a feeling of total privacy while at the property. It is also a rare opportunity to have a private pool in Yelapa. The beds are very comfortable, something I really cherish in a rental. The house is newly built and really beautiful. There is plenty of room to gather and enjoy good company. Just one word to the wise: very young children would be hard to supervise here due to the pool and stairs. Our youngest was 5 which worked fine.

Fantastic Vacation!

This was our first trip to Yelapa and to Mexico in fact. We were so thrilled with our stay at Casa Flourish...what a fabulous place! The accommodations were amazing and the view just spectacular! Jay and Annie were so helpful in preparing us for our arrival and vacation to Yelapa. Carolyn, Yanet and Felipe all provided such great service...what a bonus! We ate at so many fantastic places and only wish we hadn't waited so long to venture down to Fanny's...Abel was quite entertaining! Our children (16 & 14) both agreed that this was their favourite vacation to-date! Thank you Jay and Annie for sharing Casa Flourish with us! We cannot wait to go back to Yelapa!

AMAZING

I would give Casa Flourish more then a 5 star review if I could. My hubby and I were beyond impressed with the amenities, culture, size, breathtaking views, wonderful people, peacefulness, and overall experience that we had while staying at Casa Flourish. The second we arrived I was wishing we had brought the whole family to share in this special experience.... I guess there is always next time. My very favorite part of our whole trip was the water taxi ride to and from Yelapa. The whole experience is unique, exciting, and very much an adventure. Thank you!

Casa Flourish

The owners contacted us before arrival to talk about expectations and tips including where to eat and local connections for activities. The layout of this home was open & spacious with expansive views from almost every part of the property to the river, beach or jungle. Perfect altitude for awesome bird viewing, beach and access to the pueblo. The accommodations surpassed our expectations with modern amenities, utilities and comfort. Nice artistic decor. Privacy was much appreciated. All we needed for a perfect vacation in Yelapa!

Fantastic view, great location and great property!

I begin by saying that this is one of the nicest homes we've rented anywhere in the world. The entire property has a stunning view of the ocean, bay, river valley and mountains. Everything is new and working and clean. We could not be happier with our choice. I like to write a practical review for potential renters so if I say anything that sounds negative please return to my first paragraph. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to return someday. Felipe and Yanet and Caroline made sure we had anything we needed and did a great job. Location - Perfect! Short walk to town and short walk to the beach. It should be noted that if you are staying in Yelapa you climb a lot of stairs and hills. From the main living area down to the beach it is about 4 or 5 flights of stairs. We enjoyed the exercise. Town is two flights down and 1/4 mile hilly walk. Great little mom and pop restaurants and stores. Bedrooms - beautiful furniture with very comfortable beds and clean linen. One end of the main living level has a two bedroom space with it's own bathroom and shower. The bathroom if off a hallway that goes between the two rooms. There is no door in the hallway separating the bedrooms. Both bedrooms have nice balconies with awesome views. The other end of the main living level has an awesome bedroom with a huge balcony and giant glass doors that open completely or can remain closed. Fantastic views!!!! There is also a loft bed in the main living area that we did not use, completely open air with netting. Bathrooms - Nice clean everything working with nice tile. The bathroom for the master bedroom is open air but completely private. To access you go outside and up a 1/2 flight of stairs that is not well lit at night. Pool - Deep lap pool. Clean and nice with the same great views. The time of year we visited the sun only hit the pool for about three hours a day due to the mountains. Other parts of the property had sun from about 9 till 2 or 3. Main living area and Kitchen - New appliances, nice comfortable furniture well stocked kitchen. We loved hanging out in this area and cooking or having a few beers. Beautiful lighting with Mexican light fixtures. Lots of room and seating. We were told we could not use the washer and drier. We travel light and look for properties that have washer/drier. Frankly, we used them anyway since the property was advertised as offering them. Thank you for sharing your home!

Family Getaway

Mom - "Such a fantastic trip. My husband and I got engaged here 10 years ago. We have been back only one since, but never an overnight stay. Casa Flourish made it easy for us to take the plunge to actually vacation in Yelapa (as opposed to staying in Puerto Vallerta and coming down for a day trip). Casa Flourish is absolutely beautiful. The owners have done such a nice job with it. Brand-new and has all of the upgrades that Westerners are used to but are very rare in the village, such as a washing machine and dryer, and dishwasher. But beyond the basic essentials, the finishing touches make each room feel like the true Mexican retreat that it is. Beautiful hand carved doors and furniture, humongous colorful chandeliers, open air living, 8 1/2 foot infinity pool with a sprawling views of the ocean… While my husband and I enjoyed sleeping with the door wide-open to the sounds of the Pacific, I appreciated that our children could sleep behind locked doors. The first couple days we were "busy" seeing some of the sites to behold in the area. We took a guide and horses to the big fall, which was just breathtaking. We walked through the village to the small fall we found a guide to take us through the woods up to the pool on top of the small fall. Like many things in Yelapa, not for the unadventurous, but so worth it. We chatted up many ex-pats on the beach, many of which have found a way to live in Yelapa for a good part of the year. We practiced yoga on the beach. And Pilates happens just up River every day. I wish I could report that I went there as well! One of my favorite parts was being able to play in the ocean with the waves and the freshwater river in the same day. Probably the most valuable part of the trip was being "screen free" for a week. The children didn't complain once. So much to DO!" Dad: "Wonderful trip. Nice sleeping arrangements. Close to beaches and restaurants. Clean. Friendly people." 7 year old girl - " it was fun playing in the waves, it was unexplainable. I went on a kayak ride with my dad and we found seashells and there was a rock with crabs on it. My favorite part was seeing dolphins from the house. We used pesos and not "normal" money. There are no cars, only horses and Moto's. You can see the mountains with palm trees and the ocean and the beach and all the rocks and all the village and it's so pretty. " 9 year old daughter: " my dad and I jumped off the Pier and dove for seashells. We saw many different varieties of animals. It's fun burying each other in the sand. The view of the ocean is beautiful in the morning during the sunrise. Mom and dad let us walk to the tienda by ourselves and some of the candy was spicy! The town is small and nice. I love it there!

Awesome!

This trip was one for the books to say the least. The arrival was fantastic with Felipe meeting us at the pier in P.V.. Made things easy as far as scheduling a way to get to the village.. The house is the best place in the village to stay in my opinion if you want your personal/relaxing time. We did our adventuring during the day most the time and then just came back to relax, enjoying the views from the patio with the pool.. The house has everything you would need already there so really isn't any worries about having to run out to get something or needing anything. The rooms were very clean and kept up, the kitchen had all supplies needed for pretty much whatever you wanted and the bathrooms were 1st class. Only advice for guest is to see the "town waterfall" first, then go to the "big waterfall" (much more of a hike but worth it). The house also has a suggestion book with things and activities to do while staying. READ IT....it will help with where/when to eat at the fantastic places this village has to offer. I can't say enough good about this place, so if visiting Yelapa, you should be staying here!!!!

Romantic Getaway

My husband and I wanted to experience something new and different for our five year anniversary. Yelapa and Casa Flourish did not disappoint. I was impressed from the moment we arrived at the pier in Puerto Vallarta. Our guide (Felipe) was already there, waiting for us in his boat. He boarded all our luggage, had refreshments ready for us and was so friendly. As we arrived in Yelapa, our luggage was immediately taken by two polite, young men who also led us to Casa Flourish. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations! Casa Flourish is beautiful and has an absolutely amazing view of Yelapa! It was more than enough space for just the two of us. It was private, so clean, comfortable and only a few yards away from the beach. The lighting, the furniture, the decor and bright colors were stunning and so inviting. Casa Flourish was not only perfect for a romantic getaway but would also be suitable for a fun family vacation, a laid-back guys or girls trip or a relaxed spring break vacation. The kitchen is completely functional and stocked with any kitchen utensil you might need. There are several yummy restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking. Another benefit of staying at Casa Flourish is the pool! The pool is so convenient and refreshing after a long hike to one of the waterfalls and the pool lights up at night to provide a relaxing, romantic ambiance. Felipe and his sweet wife checked on us daily. They answered any questions we had and made sure we felt right at home! My husband and I will definitely be back to Yelapa in the near future and we will definitely be staying at Casa Flourish!

Great Adventure in Yelapa!!

Yelapa is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and definitely more of a vacation than a resort! The house is perfectly situated in between the pueblo and the playa with short walks to each. The main palapa is open to the stunning views of the river and the bay. The casita to the east has 2 bedrooms with 3 beds total and a cute little bathroom with a shower. The master bedroom is to the west of the palapa and has a huge patio with lounger chairs and comfy swivel seats - perfect to have drinks! The palapa also has a bar that overlooks the infinity pool and the views. I fell in love with Yelapa as soon as we entered the bay. It is cut off from any other town and has no roads - only your own two feet (or horses and an occasional ATV) to get around. The best are the people, who have a simple life and wouldn't trade it for the world! I will definitely be back to Casa Flourish!
